If you are
interested in taking some dance lessons (Middle Eastern/Raks
Sharki/Belly Dancing/Egyptian Style), check out my information
page at: catherinebarros.info
My Maine Coons provide me hours of entertainment even if I
do have to chase them off the computer. See them on
My Maine
Coons
page, where there is a slideshow for MAXIMUM Maine
Coons.
I am now on Facebook, so look for me
there. If I don't know you, I won't accept a friend
request unless we have some friends in common (all dancers
from around the world are welcome).
My
blog is a journal where I make
entries on a weekly basis (hopefully) and post pix of
various events or whatever I feel like putting up there.
Partly a way of communicating more immediate activities in my
life with family and friends . . . or anyone else that is
interested!! Find out where I have been travelling to
for work and dance workshops. My niece has a blog too. catherinescott.blogspot
I have created many Picasa Web
Galleries. I will include links for the individual
galleries throughout my website as embedded
slideshows!!
Although it is not used so much anymore,
another place to check out some of my photos is my photoblog
at: cebddd.buzznet . There are many photo
galleries including: Hong Kong (3 business trips in
2006), Egypt - 2007/2006 (Cairo), 2005 (includes Luxor), Egypt
2004 (Pyramids, Alexandria, The Nile, Egyptian Museum),
Washington DC (Cherry Blossoms, Gettysburg, Mt.Vernon,
Rockville MD: April '05 - Aug '05), my garden, snow
in Allentown (Jan '05) and Chicago (Sept '04).

UPDATES:
APRIL 2009: Yes, it has been a
long time since I have updated my website. I have
been busy with some intense projects at work plus I've been
working on my fitness routines (more cross-training for
strength). I didn't neglect my dancing and writing
but I did neglect this website and my long-term project on
learning the accordion.
I need a major overhaul of how I arrange things here (but a
new website is not feasible at this point).
First, I have split off the links to my Gilded
Serpent articles (reviews, interviews, etc) into a separate
page ( Articles ), where
I will also post other article information. Then I
will figure out what to do with the rest of this crazy
website.
NEW ARTICLES - some on
Gilded Serpent of course. These include music,
DVD (Farha Tour), events (Fifi Abdo), travel/photos (Dina and
Cairo 2008), an interview with Dr. Mo Geddawi and one
upcoming interview with Farida Fahmy (not yet written but,
insha'allah, very soon). Plus a couple in The
Chronicles: Katia of Boston in DFW and Aida
Nour in Chicago (scanned and uploaded here).
NEW
PHOTOS: The trip to Chicago in
October 2008 for Cairo Raks Chicago gave me a chance to visit
the Lincoln Park Zoo. Go here: Zoo .
With 2 more trips
to Cairo since the last time I posted, I have some more photos
of various things. I've been busy creating more Picasa
Web Galleries for these.
Not so many photos
from the Feb. 2009 trip. I wasn't being too touristy
but I did take a little trip out to Sakkara &
Memphis. I put those photos on the page where I have
other photos of the Pyramids ( Pyramids ). I have
some video footage too, which I hope to get uploaded
somewhere.
Mainly I was
visiting people and taking some classes with Farida Fahmy
(hosted by Keti Sharif). Check out their
websites. KetiSharif and FaridaF
From my trip in April
2008: I am doing some
re-organizing of my Egypt photos, starting with a new page for
my 2008 trip. Dina at the
Semiramis ( Dina ), Leila on the Nile dinner cruise (Leila), Al Azhar
Park ( Cairo2008), Day Trip to
Alexandria ( Alex ) plus Nile Group Festival ( Cairo2008 )with some other
miscellaneous pix. In case you can't figure it out where the other
photos start, head to the "Photos from Egypt"
page 1 (aka More from Egypt) and
that is where I have put the most of the Picasa Web Galleries
for Egypt (and they are overflowing the page).
I have video footage but I have stored
it in other places. The footage from a
Felluca Ride on the Nile is on facebook right now along with
Lorna Gow in a short segment from her show on a Nile Dinner
Cruise (Posted links to facebook on a new page MyVideos until I can figure out how to embed or
whatever).
LUXOR!!!!! I moved
my webgallery of photos from my trip in 2005 to a new
page and made the size bigger . . easier to see the
great photos! Go
here: Luxor
More New Photos/April
2009: Scanned a
bunch more photos from my old Dance album - that is a blast
from the past as I don't keep an album of these anymore.
And I put them in a Picasa Webgallery so it is easier for
someone to view and for me to add more. So check my Dance History page.
July 2007: Added another
new page for links to fellow bhuzzers websites at Bhuzzers. Remember to
visit bhuz . . . see the golden bhuz at
the bottom of the page !!!
I've updated my page for my trip to Turkey with a Picasa
Web Gallery slideshow!!! Go check out Turkey
!
Look on my Photos
page for a new slideshow of Hong Kong photos.
June
2007: Uploaded photos from my trips to
Egypt into a Picasa Web Gallery. This makes it
easier to view the photos rather than posting them on this
website. I have many of the same photos that are on
my photoblog, but that takes so long to load these days since
buzznet has gotten so popular. Go to More from
Egypt to see the galleries which I have
created so far.
Aida Nour - go here: Aida Nour .
There are photos from 2005 and 2006 shows. I have a blog
where I posted some videos that she allowed us to take in Las
Vegas (2007), Nile Group Festival (2008) and Chicago (2008) -
Blog
April/May/June 2007 - I had
a review of Hadia's Teacher Training Level I (presented in
Baton Rouge Oct. 2006) published in The Chronicles (link
now posted on Articles
page). Also a page for Hadia, where I might post
other photos of her - go here: HADIA .
Feb/Mar. 2007- Back to
Cairo. I took some great sunset photos from the
balcony of the flat. You can see some of those photos in
one of my Picasa Web Galleries.
March 2006: Another trip
to Cairo, Egypt for 2 weeks. Did a lot
of touristy things: went to Manyal Palace, the
Geyer-Anderson Museum, Ibn Tulun Mosque, Coptic Cairo, Khan el
Khalilli (of course . .. always go there). I also
endured several days of brown sandy skies due to the
sandstorms blowing in. It was interesting, but not fun
if you wanted to walk around outside at the various sites.
Feb/Mar 2005:
Egypt for 2 weeks with a trip to Luxor.
Some great photos from Luxor (check my Picasa Web
Galleries, etc).
Photos of Dina in LA, May 2004 and Cairo, at
the Semiramis, June 2004.
Dina photos. (Now

Mona el Said photos
from the workshop/show in September 2004. MonaElSaid
